Dear Friends,
I share this reflection with you from the shores of the Osa. A warm afternoon onshore breeze is waving the palm fronds and offering my bare skin a respite from the thick jungle air. Waves from a building swell are coming tumbling in on the pillared rock scapes, offering a steady roar that holds a base note for the high tones of the many birds singing in the treetops and the steady hum of cicadas. Hues of the ocean’s blue and the jungles green offer a spectrum of life to my eyes. It is hard not to be in awe and wonder here in the jungle. Life abounds. Sun kisses your cheeks. Rainbow painted Macaws, iridescent Blue Morph butterflies, Monkeys swinging from every which limb. I love how this place wraps me in a childlike sense of wonder.
I wrote this piece prior to coming here, in the most ordinary of days and ways at home in my kitchen. Magic can be easier to invite in when the body is relaxed, or the trees are in bloom. But, it is never outside of us or somewhere else. It is right here.

This is an offering to see the extraordinary in the ordinary moments of life. May a soothing breath offer you balm enough to find the magic return to your own eyes and life.
