Summer rains soften the edges of time and space. Though there currently is a pause in the rain, the clouds still lay heavy on the horizon and the plant’s stems bow with the weight of the remaining droplets on the leaves. The day feels gentle, drawn out, granting a warm cup of tea.
It has been some time since I reflected on all things life, living, and being present on this platform. School and Spring sports teams have ended, summer schedules and All Stars Baseball kicked off, the moon has waxed to full, the sun hit its peak of summer light, and now another cycle of breath returns.
The energies of last week’s luminous light offered many moments of reflection. Sweltering 95 degrees, heralding thunderstorms, women circling/singing/sweating, and birthing mama goats orbited my field as I welcomed intentional ways of gracing this time of year. As the Strawberries ripened in the fields, so too did the Moon show itself here on Earth in its fullest expression, lighting up my own inner and outer gardens in the dark of the night.
