There are so many things we can move our attention towards. So much to mourn, so much to celebrate. I am grateful for the time and space to be witness, a withness, of my friend’s union.
I was asked to share a reading at their wedding this past weekend. The ask gifted me the time and space to be in reflection of love. How I see it come through them, move around and with them. What ended up being threaded together was a woven mix of my words, words that have inspired my heart, and the cyclic nature of all life finding its natural way home to love.
The words were shared on a beauty of a day overlooking Casco Bay Islands. Bluebird sky, crystal blue waters with just enough swell to witness the crash of waves on distant rocks. Full mast sailboats glided along receiving the gentle afternoon breezes.
After acknowledging and offering gratitude to the lands, the people, the sonic boom that a union offers the planet and its people, I stepped up to share my words.
My wish for us all is to be more awake to the love that is in all of us. To cherish the fleeting moments offered in each breath, handhold, eye exchange, sailboat passing by. Notice the way in which you are asked, invited, falling in love with the enormity of life experience here in this world.
